Portugal UEFA EURO 2008 football shirt



Nike released limited edition versions of the Portugal football shirts made for the 08/09 season and Euro 2008.
The authentic player versions of Portugal football shirts in limited edition quantity of 2008 pieces are released worldwide, and each shirt is individually serial numbered as one of a total of 2008 pieces. Comes in a high quality presentation box.
Compared to the official replica version, the shirt itself differs in both fabric and fit with a wider gauge mesh for increased breathability and a tighter, aerodynamic, body-hugging fit. The team badge is also printed instead of woven to avoid nipple rub. Size Large only released.


The Portuguese team as one of the favorites to win the trophy. Portugal in Group A with Turkey, Switzerland and Czech Republic, the first game was against Turkey and it was won 2-0. Their second game was against the Czech Republic, a 3-1 success. With assured qualification to the knockout stage, as first in group A, they played with the reserve team against Switzerland, and lost 2-0, with two Hakan Yakin goals.
On 19 June 2008, Portugal played against Germany, and were beaten 2-3 after falling behind 0-2 within the first half an hour. Portugal proceeded to score, followed by another German goal, a Michael Ballack header. Portugal scored a consolation goal in the final minutes of normal time, courtesy of Hélder Postiga, but was eventually knocked out of Euro 2008 at the quarterfinal stage

The new home shirt made by Nike is a strong red colour with green features, using their traditional kit colours off the Portugese flag. The Nike logo is in gold on the right chest and the Federação Portuguesa de Futebol badge is on the left chest. Green piping is used on the collar and green runs up the sides of the front of the shirt too. Ricardo Pereira, Bruno Alves and Nani show the new national football team kits during a media presentation in Lisbon March 24, 2008. Portugal make first appearance with their new Nike 08/09 - Euro 2008 kit when they play the international friendly match against Greece in Dusseldorf on March 26, 2008.


Portugal new white away shirt will be worn with white short and white socks. The shirt features use of green and red, the collar of the kit is red, whilst the green is used for the Nike swoosh on the right chest and down the sides of the shirt. The Portugese football logo is on the left chest and where names & numbers are used they appear in green, with the number being centred on the front of the shirt.
