U.C. Sampdoria 2008/09 kits with Kappa




Italian club, Unione Calcio Sampdoria or UC Sampdoria club based in Genoa, Italy. Sampdoria currently participates in the Italian Serie A Tim. Sampdoria commonly nicknamed Blucerchiati, blue-ringed was formed in 1946 from the merger of two clubs Sampierdarenese and Andrea Doria. Sampdoria play at Stadio Luigi Ferraris, capacity 36,536, which it shares with Genoa's other Serie A Tim, the derby between the two neighbour is commonly known as the Derby della Lanterna. Sampdoria biggest European success came when they won the Cup Winners' Cup in 1990 and the clubs also reached the UEFA Champions League final in 1992 only to lose against the Spanish side FC Barcelona with an 1-0 score after extra time.
Italian base manager Walter Mazzarri is currently manager of Sampdoria since May 31, 2007. In the UEFA Cup 2008–09 group stage Sampdoria was grouped with Standard Liedge, Stuttgart, Sevilla and Partizan Belgrade in group C.

Kappa Sampdoria shirt primary uniform are blue with white, red and black stripes, hence the nickname blucerchiati. Sampdoria secondary uniform is all white with red and black stripes hoop in the middle of the shirt. Sampdoria kit sponsor Kappa has its logo placed just under the collar on the top right side of the shirt and on both sides of the sleeves. Just opposite of the Kappa logo is the club Sampdoria crest. Sampdoria shirt sponsor ERG has its logo placed just beneath in the center of the shirt. The Sampdoria shirt is complemented by white and blue as changes shorts with Kappa logo on both sides. The Sampdoria socks is completed with the small Kappa logo.
