Costa Rica national football team have been CONCACAF champions three times (1963, 1969, 1989). Also know as La Sele, the national team of Costa Rica and is controlled by the Federación Costarricense de Fútbol. Rodrigo Kenton curently the head coach Costa Rica football team. Kenton was named head coach with less than two months to the start of the 1st group phase of the CONCACAF qualifiers for South Africa 2010, after Hernan Medford was ceased from his position as head coach of the La Sele. Costa Rica football team has been drawn against Canada, El Salvador and Jamaica for the group A stage the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup is the tenth edition of the Gold Cup competition.
